Becoming
Welcome to my evolution as an artist! I’m Erin Starrett Starks and I’ve been creating all my life. On my 50th birthday, I decided to finally give my art the time and attention it craved.
I’m a mixed-media artist exploring my voice, developing my style, and building a body of work. I may not always have the language to describe what I’m making, but I can tell you about my process: I build layers, invite the unexpected, and let the work evolve organically.
I collect, rip, cut, paint, glue, stamp, stitch, and rearrange. I often work on many pieces at once, allowing each one to evolve until it tells me it’s finished.
I’m drawn to whimsy, texture, unexpected combinations, and the beautiful things that happen when I let go of controlling the outcome.
I’m trusting the process, taking my time, and letting the path unfold.
